APPLICATION
The first step in applying to Wichita Montessori School is to submit an application. If you prefer not to download an application, they can be obtained by calling 316-686-7265.

INITIAL VISIT
A representative of Wichita Montessori School will contact you to schedule a visit with WMS Director of Admissions Jane Saunders, who will give you a tour of our school.
This is your chance to witness Maria Montessori’s method in action, and we ask that you not bring your child on this first visit.
CHILD VISIT
During a second visit, the potential student meets one of the teachers from the appropriate age group and is invited to spend some time in a Montessori classroom. “After meeting with the teacher, a child is usually delighted to come back and stay with us for a morning,” Saunders says. “This gives teachers an opportunity to watch how children move around the room and work with other children. We can learn a great deal before offering placement, so that the needs of all the children in the room are served.”
Teachers look for traits such as independent work habits and ability to follow directions.
